Planet Hollywood Las Vegas Overview

Planet Hollywood room picture
Planet Hollywood Hotel Room

The ill-fated Aladdin has been completely reworked and re-branded as the Planet Hollywood resort and casino. Gone are all traces of the former desert/genie theme, which has been replaced by a hip contemporary vibe, down to the rock music soundtrack that plays 24 hours a day. Oversized posters of Hollywood legends adorn the public spaces, and actual movie props and costumes are placed in many of the rooms. The Desert Passage mall that surrounded the Aladdin hotel is now known as Miracle Mile Shops, home to more than 150 retailers, clubs, entertainment venues and restaurants. One holdover is the popular thunderstorm that occurs on the hour in the “harbor” section of the mall.

Yes, it rains indoors! After shopping to exhaustion, you can find great mall dining at 13 restaurants, including Trader Vics, which offers outdoor tables directly on the strip (opposite Bellagio), a perfect spot to sample one of their signature exotic drinks for two.

With the magnificent artwork laid out on the walls, there is no detail left to uncertainty. Planet Hollywood provides great demonstration to bringing the desert to the ..desert!

Of all the features at the Planet Hollywood, the most memorable will be the mile long Desert Passage shops. During your journey through this shopping paradise, you will find over 150 world-class stores and boutiques. As you make your way around Miracle Mile Shops, make sure you don't get caught up in the storm. Yes-it's true! A real storm, complete with the sounds and effects of thunder and rain, pour out of the blue Miracle Mile Shops sky for a unique strip experience.

After shopping to exhaustion, you can find great dining at P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Tremezzo, Elements, Oyster Bay Seafood & Wine Bar, or Bonsai. With over 18 restaurants, your taste buds will find its match.

With a mega resort like Planet Hollywood, you will have mega entertainment. A crowd favorite is always V -the Ultimate Variety Show, a compilation of many acts of talent. For a production show with singing and music, guests will enjoy The Fab Four, X Girls The Show, or The Fashionistas, located inside Krave, a gay nightclub. When special performers come to town, many will find a home inside the hotel's 7,000-seat theater.

Planet Hollywood also encompasses a 32,000-square-foot spa and salon, two 4,500-square-foot pools, and two Jacuzzis for those who seek relaxation. Once you visit the Planet Hollywood, you'll be wishing to come back for yet another enchanting experience.

great location but lacking in entertainment

PH is def a great location, but is def lacking in entertainment. The pool and club there are not so good, but the casino and rooms are pretty nice

    Highly recommended hotel

We arrived at 11:00 am Feb. 18 and were given immediate access to all 3 of our rooms -- no waiting. It's worth the $35 to upgrade to a room with a view of the Bellagio fountains -- spectacular. Huge 42" flat screen TV and oversize bathrooms with tub and separate stall shower. This is surely one of the most beautiful casinos in Vegas -- tall ceilings and handsome modern decor. Rock music is playing everywhere 24 hrs. a day (but not too loud). The only time it bothered me was at breakfast in Planet Dailies. Trader Vics has outdoor seating overlooking the Strip and the Bellagio fountains. Highly recommended hotel (run by Sheraton) experience.

    most wonderful time

I stayed at your hotel last year for my birthday, and I had the most wonderful time. There is nothing like Las Vegas and the Planet Hollywood hotel, I would recommend your place to anyone who stops by to say hello.

    super hotel

My wife and I made this trip to Las Vegas for our 20th wedding anniversary. While checking the desk clerk was not helpful or friendly. The room was the smallest we have ever stayed in while in Las Vegas. The view from our room of Planet Hollywood and Bellagio was the only reason we did not complain. The slot floor person 40ish blond with long hair and no name tag was rude to both my wife and myself on several occassions. Even her supervisor was rude to my wife. House keeping could not remember to leave water or wipe down the top of anything. The night before we left water came running down the wall in our bath. Apparently someone over filled the tub on the floor above. It didn't last long and the water ran into the tub. I did tell the desk clerk about it upon check out and she appeared to appreciate my reporting it. We stayed a week, spent several thousand dollars, the majority of the staff were less than helpful to down right rude, the only nice people were the bell boys. We won't stay there again or recommend any of our friends to either.

    Rediculous

I tagged along with someone to Vegas for my first time there. Upon check-in we were met with the most asenine jackass working behind the desk. We made reservations MONTHS ago and reserved a non-smoking room. Well, this dude says we only have smoking rooms available unless you want to pay more money we can upgrade you. So, you can make a reservation there for a non-smoking room but there's no guarantee that you'll get the room that you booked and PAID for. Something wrong with that. The next day we had to go to the check-in desk to request to move rooms. The next room still smelled like smoke and the ice bucket was cracked and leaked allover the desk center. Will never stay there again.
