New Year’s Eve

Las Vegas New Year’s Eve 2023

If you're reading this guide, chances are, you're planning your trip to Vegas and trying to get the lay of the land. It's almost New Year's Eve, and you think to yourself, What better place to see the ball drop than in Las Vegas?

However, like all big events, preparations have to be made! New Year's Eve in Las Vegas is a once-a-year event that requires advance planning and reservations, and it is not recommended that you try and plan it as a spur-of-the-moment whim (unless money is no object, then fire away).

In my guide below, I will be touching on some of the things you should know when thinking of celebrating New Year's Eve in Las Vegas! Once you've perused the options, simply fill out a form with your information and dates of arrival, and one of our VIP hosts will be happy to assist you with planning out the entire week/end!

How to Plan for a Vegas New Year’s Eve?

As far as NYE goes, this needs to be your mantra when planning this trip. You'll need to know exactly how many people you'll be traveling with, book the hotel well in advance, and have party plans set up for your big night, so you're not scrambling for whatever's left when the time comes.

Nightclubs

New Year’s Eve

Las Vegas nightclubs are known for their extravagance and flair, and the top-end talent that performs nightly at these world-class venues. In any given year, you can see some of the "biggest guns" in terms of performer and artist selections when New Year's Eve rolls around.

From Calvin Harris to Drake, Tiëstö to Migos, Vegas offers the chance to experience watching the biggest artists perform in multi-million-dollar venues like Omnia and XS.

View our guide for reserving bottle service for more information about making a reservation at any venue.

Nightclubs are also open earlier than their usual timeslot to gear up for the midnight ball drop. Expect nightclubs to be open at 8 pm or thereabouts to start the process of getting everyone in and ready to count down with the rest of the venue.

How to Attend the Nightclub Events at a Vegas NYE?

Nightclubs that are open on NYE(pretty much every single one of them) require all their guests to purchase tickets or have a set table reservation (usually requires an upfront deposit or paid in full) to attend their NYE event.

There is no guest list available anywhere; you must purchase tickets or have a table reservation to attend any club on New Year's Eve. Also, the max amount of people per table is strictly monitored – depending on how much you buy your table for; you will only be allowed a certain amount of guests to enter with you. Yes, that goes for ladies, as well.

You won't be able to purchase general admission tickets at the door either, and chances are, tables will be all sold out by the time the doors open – at least, up until after the midnight ball drop.

Las Vegas Nightclubs After Midnight

Once the countdown is over, everyone inside the club, now filled to the brim with champagne flowing, might start hitting the exits a little early (especially if they were there for the earlier-than-usual start time), which means you can get pretty decent pricing if you're coming in late, but it's all dependent on how many people end up leaving and how many tables are open for re-sale.

At that time, the clubs may start letting you purchase general admission tickets at the door after midnight if capacity starts to dwindle after the ball drop.

NYE Pricing – How much does it cost?

New Year’s Eve

For all our guests looking for low-priced deals and free perks… let's just say that NYE in Las Vegas might not be for you. Be prepared to spend a pretty penny if you plan on visiting during this particular event.

Bottle service pricing at the nightclubs is usually 50-200% above their normal peak pricing, and even just buying tickets to attend could run you anywhere from $100-$300 (or even more) per person.

While this all seems pretty excessive, please keep in mind that everyone is trying to find the gaudiest, most extravagant plans for New Year's Eve, and Vegas fits the bill.

The demand for everything in Vegas is at its highest point of the year, with hundreds of thousands of people flocking to the desert for one magical night.

Hotels and the Las Vegas Strip

Hotels

As you can imagine, hotels are slammed for New Year's Eve week with the number of people making their way to Vegas. You will most likely be asked to book a minimum of 3 nights (depending on the hotel), so don't plan to just come in for the one night and bounce.

Book a Las Vegas Hotel

Las Vegas Strip Closures

Due to the number of people flitting from hotel to hotel with their various entertainment plans, the Strip is closed down after a certain time (usually by 5 pm) until about 4 am.

Back roads and the freeway that runs alongside the Strip get backed up during this timeframe as people try to get to their respective NYE parties, so this is something to keep in mind when making plans.

Leave your rooms early or plan an itinerary that makes it easy for you to reach your final destination, as rideshare, taxis, and even limo services will be forced to take the long way around to get you to your destination (if they can even pick you up from your hotel).

Hotel Lockouts

Because of the sheer number of people walking around Las Vegas Boulevard, Strip hotels will lock their entrances by a certain time (around 9-10 pm and onwards) unless you have proof that you are a hotel guest or have a reservation at a venue inside that hotel.

This is a security measure to limit the number of people walking into the hotel who have no business being in there, so make sure you factor that into your plans for the evening!

Las Vegas Strip Clubs

Are you looking to spend your New Year's Eve with some eye candy on your lap? Say no more.

NOTE: Because of Strip closures, limo services will be unable to pick up guests from certain hotels after the lockdown, so please plan accordingly.
