Before it was a flub of a movie, it rocked the main stage of Broadway. Featuring musical talents that included American Idol alumn Constantine Maroulis, this one-of-a-kind tribute to classical ‘80’s Rock and Roll transported audiences to a time when bands like Van Halen, Def Leppard, Whitesnake, and Quiet Riot owned the Billboard Charts. A dubious German developer steps in, hoping to transform the Bourbon Room, thus endangering the dreams of grandeur of the show’s hero and heroine.

Though the show is pegged as a musical, looking past the story, it’s nothing more than a tribute concert that pays plenty of homage to plenty of famous hair bands. While the lead player’s steal the show, there’s no doubt that the band lending its musical talents are the true heart of Rock of Ages. Arsenal fuels this long running musical with an ability to bring the ‘80s back to life through song. Never has an era been recreated so vividly through music.
