California Hotel
The California Hotel and Casino (a.k.a. The Cal), located in the historic part of Downtown Las Vegas, opened in 1975 at $10 million. Boyd Gaming is the original owner of The Cal. Because Boyd focused on the Hawaiian market, he is credited with building a large Hawaiian community in Las Vegas.
This 3.5-star smoke-free property is a full-service hotel. It is a five-minute walk from the Fremont Street Experience, has 781 affordable guest rooms with modern amenities, and boasts the "hospitality of the Hawaiian Islands."
