In addition to the various nightclubs, pool-parties and strip clubs on the Strip, Vegas is home to a ton of other things to do and explore – whether you're here with friends, family members, or at a team retreat or corporate event– there's something for everyone.
For example… Go-Kart racing with your group! This is a fun, engaging, cost-effective, and adrenaline-inducing activity that is great for family and friends or in a team-building setting with co-workers.
What is a Go-Kart?
A go-kart, also spelled as go-cart, is a small, single-person racing car with a lightweight skeleton body powered by a two-stroke, four stroke, or electrive motor.
In other words, it's a tiny version of a racing car or a bigger version of bumper cars you find at amusement parks and are meant to be raced around an indoor or outdoor track.
NOTE: Please don't ram the karts into each other; they only look like bigger bumper cars but go at much higher speeds and can cause real injuries if you ram at full speed against another driver – don't do it!
What's so special about Go-Karts in Vegas?
Entertainment in Vegas is just different, even if it's something as basic as racing go-karts. Race in a custom indoor (or outdoor, there are both options here in the desert) track designed to make you feel like you're in a real mini private Grand Prix reserved for you and your group.
Another huge advantage with go-karts is that while many people come to Vegas for the many adult-only (21+) activities, there are no such restrictions here, making it perfect as an inclusive activity for mixed groups looking to do something fun without the pesky age restrictions of the Strip.
In Vegas with your family? No problem! Go-kart venues only require guests to be at least 48 inches (4 feet) in height, so kids can join in the fun as well, making it a fun event for the whole family!
In Vegas for a team-building exercise with co-workers? Go-karts are a fun, safe activity to do while ensuring that everyone in your team can be included in the shenanigans.
What if I've never driven a Go-Kart before?
That's okay! Friendly and professional staff are on-site to educate you on how to operate the vehicles, and there are several "beginner" options available for newcomers.
If you believe you're capable of pushing down on the "gas" pedal and can drive (to some degree; some people just think they can drive), you're qualified enough to operate one of these machines.
How much does it cost?
Single races start as low as $27 per person, with options for all-you-can-race and group rates and discounts available as well.
Youth-sized go-karts are available at a lower rate for families looking to have the kids engage in their own fun.
Disclaimer: Racers under the age of 18 must be at least 48 inches (4 feet) in height and must have a parent or guardian present.
Go-Kart Track Miscellaneous FAQ:
- What should I wear when I go to the track
- There is no dress code required at the go-kart track; go as casual or as dressed up as you like – although they do require closed-toe shoes (no sandals or flip flops). Shoe rentals are available on-site for those who forget the appropriate footwear.
- What safety gear should I wear when I race?
- All racers must wear an approved safety helmet (provided on-site).
- Do I need to pay a fee if I just want to watch?
- Nope, spectators can watch for free – although you are guaranteed to want to join in the fun once you see the action!
What's the Verdict?
Racing go-karts, as well as many of the other non-partying Vegas activities, is a great way of enriching your experience in Las Vegas. Especially for our Vegas party veterans, sometimes you just need to try something new to cleanse your party palate and experiencing the great desert outdoors is a fun way to do so.
