Hakkasan Nightclub Overview
If you live in Las Vegas, chances are you’ve seen signage for a new establishment at the MGM Grand. The name is a unique one that surely stands out, which fits this nightclub’s inimitable interior offerings. Hakkasan isn’t technically new, as it has been featured in cities such as New York, Miami, London, and Dubai, but it’s certainly a new concept for the Las Vegas Strip. Its world renowned success follows it to the Las Vegas Strip with the combination of the intricacies of a high end Chinese cuisine restaurant with the high energy entertainment of a Las Vegas nightclub, Hakkasan is the perfect hybrid location to fit perfectly in the eclectic atmosphere of the MGM Grand.
Hakkasan is far from your average nightclub. When you step inside, you’re introduced to a world you’ve never experienced before. Ornate Chinese décor adorns every inch of this pristine establishment, transporting you across the Pacific. Spanning five levels and over an impressive 80,000-square feet, Hakkasan stands as one of the most spacious locales on the Las Vegas Strip. Its massive interior allows for several different escapes for guests, so if one floor doesn’t quite fit your style, surely one of the other four definitely will.
The first level of Hakkasan is the start of this establishment’s authentic restaurant. The dining space spans two complete floors, ensuring that plenty of patrons have the option to dine without waiting. Hakkasan offers a vast assortment of menu options that include familiars like peking duck, hot and sour soup, and plenty of fish, chicken, and beef dishes. Regardless of what flavors you’re inclined to indulge in, Hakkasan’s extensive menu is sure to please your palate. Much like when you order Chinese from a take-out restaurant, you may find it beneficial to simply order an array of appetizers and share. There are plenty of options to choose from that you could easily do this for several visits and not have the same thing twice.
Hakkasan is an ever changing experience due to the live acrobatics. Cirque du Soleil performers are sure to change up their act on a nightly basis so that no two visits are the same. As these impressive feats are being performed, resident and special guest DJs that include the likes of Skirllex and Sebastian Ingrosso will ensure that the dance floor is the true focus of Hakkasan. Though it may integrate new concepts, Hakkasan is still a Las Vegas nightclub at its core, so any one patron can expect to find themselves pulled away from watching the Cirque performers to dance the night away on the dance floor. The energy at this hybrid club is constantly high, and sometimes it’s a little difficult to decide on what you want to do (dance or experience the impressiveness of Cirque), but either choice you make is the right one.
Moving beyond the two restaurant levels, the third floor of Hakkasan is home to two separate spaces known as the Ling Ling club and Ling Ling Lounge. The 10,000-square foot club provides plenty of space to dance the night away while the more intimate lounge is set with a toned down atmosphere, perfect for more intimate interactions. Set above the Ling Ling areas is the main focus of Hakkasan – the nightclub. Decorated just as intricately as the restaurant, Hakkasan’s nightclub space is an elegant space that houses one of the wildest parties ever to be found on the Strip. Nightly, the musical fair is headlined by resident DJs Tiesto, deadmau5, Calvin Harris, and Steve Aoki with special guest DJs making an appearance quite frequently. VIP booths line the dance floor and give the best views in the house.
The nightclub space leads out into an outdoor area, complete with its own bar and gorgeous two-story water features and lush foliage. The outdoor space is a nice change of pace from the high energy nightclub, and though it may not house the same flashy LED screens as the indoor space, it does provide its own DJ booth for some different entertainment. Finally, Hakkasan culminates on the fifth floor with a more private space that includes semi-private rooms and its own access to the nightclub’s main dance floor on the fourth level.
Hakkasan is the embodiment of a premier nightclub, providing top of the line entertainment in a space that can only be described as elegant, intricate, and extremely unique. If you’re going to give it a shot, you must go for the VIP treatment. Nothing says VIP like getting front-of-the-line access to a brand new establishment on the Las Vegas Strip.
