Car Rental Review
Las Vegas Car Rental Overview
Who needs a limousine service or a chauffeur? If this is your attitude and you are not up for tackling Las Vegas’ public transportation system, car rentals might be just the ticket. They’ll allow you to cruise not only the Las Vegas Strip and Fremont Street, but also the edges of Las Vegas where you’ll find attractions like Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, and Valley of Fire State Park. There are many wonders located in the Mojave desert, so why limit yourself to the glitz of Las Vegas?
Car rental is furthermore cheaper than renting a limousine. Though it comes without all of the extra frills, it is a serviceable way to get around, and you have access to it all day, every day.
McCarran International Airport makes it incredibly easy to rent a vehicle. There are ten different rental companies just a quick shuttle ride away from the baggage claim. The rental car center was removed from the Las Vegas airport with the aim of reducing congestion on the roads, but don’t worry. The shuttle to the rental center runs every five minutes. You can pick your favorite from among Advantage, Alamo/National, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, Payless, Savmor and Thrifty.
It is easy to capitalize on your choice to rent a car, in terms of getting more bang for your buck. The most important thing is to pick the smallest vehicle that will suit your needs. Small cars will serve equally well as SUVs (unless, of course, you are carrying rock climbing equipment or something similar). Given the price of gas recently, a small car will also be easier on your wallet.
Unlike in most cities, parking should not be a problem. Most places that you go will have free or inexpensive valet parking, and you can get parking validated at the casinos. As a tourist city, Las Vegas is very accessible in terms of parking.
All-in-all, if you want to broaden your Las Vegas experience to beyond the Strip, car rental is easily a cheaper alternative to both limos and taxis and will greatly enrich your experience.
